Moisture Assessment

Before any repairs began, we used a moisture meter to assess the concrete floor’s moisture content. This crucial step ensures optimal conditions for new flooring installations.

Repairing Hidden Damage

The next picture showcases the importance of a thorough inspection. While visible damage was present, removing the baseboards revealed further drywall damage requiring replacement.

Moisture resistant drywall and Insulation Upgrades

  • We replaced damaged drywall using a moisture resistant board (green drywall) up to 2 feet high, ensuring a clean and solid foundation for the new finishes.
  • We also replaced insulation up to 2 feet high and added insulation around exposed copper pipes to prevent future freeze damage.

Creating a Healthy and Functional Space

Beyond repairs, we prioritized creating a healthy and functional environment:

Dust Containment

As certified contractors following EPA guidelines, we used plastic sheeting and taped HVAC registers to minimize dust spread during construction.

Waterproof Flooring

To address potential future moisture concerns, we installed a recommended waterproof carpet pad before laying down the new carpet.

HEPA Cleaning

Post-construction cleaning is essential. We employed a powerful HEPA vacuum to ensure a clean and healthy environment.
